Corporate Social Responsibility as political action

by Bradley Gardner on August 5, 2011

MNCs often need to build up local governmental capacity in order for their CSR efforts to take effect. Companies adopting this strategy offer new solutions through technological or mechanism innovation for important public policy territories, such as education or public health.

From Caixin. On how CSR has been used to effect policy and build capacity in post communist states, and how its more often used to exploit policy and government relations. A good antidote for people who have heard to much about CSR in public relations spiels.
